Leeds Bradford International Airport (LBA) was originally Yeadon Aerodrome, which began operating in October 1931 with club flying and training flights being predominant activities. By 1935 the airport had been extended by a further 35 acres and schedule air services commenced to Newcastle and Edinburgh with North Eastern Airways. Services to Blackpool and the Isle of Man also started with West Coast air Services.

Bus: The 757 Airlink bus service operates between the airport and Leeds city centre rail and bus stations (journey time -20-30 minutes) and Otley. There is also a regular bus service running daily between the airport and Bradford City Centre Transport Interchange. Taxi: Airport Taxi Association companies that serve the airport are Streamline and City Cabs.

Facilities at the airport include banks, ATMs, bureau de change and a tourist information and hotel reservations desk. There are also shops, bars and restaurants. The Executive Lounge on the first floor of the Departure Lounge offers a full bar service, complimentary newspapers, fax machine and telephone. Entry to the lounge is through membership of the Yorkshire Executive Lounge or alternatively by obtaining a ticket from the Servisair ticket desk in the check-in concourse for a one off entry fee of £18.80 per person per visit. Disabled facilities are good; those with special needs should contact their airline in advance.
 
Transfer to City
The MetroConnect bus services run every 30 minutes from the airport to Leeds and Brandford City Centre Bus and Rail Stations, calling at all metro stops along the way. Trains are available to and from Leeds City Rail Station, from where connections can be made to all parts of the UK. Taxis are also available.
