Historic streets and Atlantic scenery in northern Tenerife.
Puerto de la Cruz sits on Tenerife's northern coast near the Orotava Valley. Its old streets, waterfront and Lago Martiánez pool complex offer a different setting from the larger southern resort areas. It can be a base for exploring northern towns and landscapes, with accommodation ranging from central properties to hotels on the surrounding slopes.
An arrival option to compare
A northern gateway to compare, potentially with a flight connection. Tenerife South is another option with a longer road transfer.
There are no current Puerto de la Cruz offers on TripBuster. An independent travel expert can help you explore dates, hotels and a budget that works for you.
Allow time for the waterfront and old town as well as excursions into the surrounding area. Check admission and opening arrangements for paid attractions. Ocean conditions can be rough, so follow local advice at beaches and bathing areas.
Northern Tenerife is generally greener and can be cloudier or wetter than the south. Weather varies with altitude, and mountain trips need warmer layers. Choose the north for its setting and activities rather than assuming identical weather across the island.
Compare both Tenerife North and Tenerife South. The northern airport is closer to this part of the island, but UK itineraries may offer more convenient services through the south. Include the complete transfer when deciding.
